Kids in Windsor-Essex can get their ghosts, fears and candy started early this Halloween with a few treat alternatives planned for Saturday.
After a successful event last year, WFCU is bringing a drive-thru alternative back to four of the credit union’s drive-thru outlets on Saturday.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 30 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at WFCU venues in Tecumseh, Amherstburg, Leamington and South Windsor to “allow kids to experience the treat in the comfort and safety of their homes. ‘a vehicle”.
Kids will receive a Halloween treat bag filled with activities and candy to enjoy while supplies last.
When participating in the WFCU Credit Union Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru Event, participants are encouraged to follow the instructions below:
- Arrive at one of the four drive-thru points of the WFCU Credit Union (Amherstburg, Leamington, South Windsor or Tecumseh).
- Pull up to our drive-thru kiosk.
- Children are encouraged to say “Trick or Treat” from the safety of the vehicle, and WFCU Credit Union staff will hand-hand treat bags into the drive-thru drawer.
- The adult driving the vehicle is invited to retrieve the bags of treats from the drive-thru drawer.
- Once the treat bags are collected, please move forward so the vehicle behind you can participate in the treat fun.
Strict security measures against COVID-19 will be put in place, including:
- All visitors MUST stay in their vehicles
- Contactless delivery of Halloween treat bags
- Drive-thru drawers will be disinfected between each vehicle
- Wearing a mask and disinfecting the hands
The WFCU is asking residents to refrain from participating in drive-thru even if you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, have traveled outside of Canada or to an area where there is an outbreak. current, or have had cold or flu symptoms within the past 14 days.
Tilbury Auto Mall to host haunted house behind the wheel
The Tilbury Auto Mall also hosts a haunted house drive on Saturday with Tilbury Chrysler, Lally Ford and Lally Chevrolet turning their service areas into three different Halloween drive-thru experiences.
There will be a toddler-friendly route at Lally Chevrolet with a focus on superheroes and cartoon characters, as well as spooky routes through the Mummy’s Tomb at Tilbury Chrusler and the Mad Scientists Lab at Lally Ford. .
Visitors can ride one or all of the fun and spooky attractions.
“Once again, we are going to have contactless or process stops at every dealership,” said Tilbury Chrysler chairman Tom Mayhew. “The kids don’t even have to get out of their vehicle.
The free event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors should line up by 8:30 pm Everyone is welcome and costumes can be worn but are not required.
“Our set and prop designer has been busy creating some pretty scary sets and scares,” added Adam Lally. “There will also be a lot of live actor characters wandering around. If you’ve visited last year there have been a few changes to help get more vehicles off the road while waiting to enter, but be sure to be prepared to wait a bit… that turned out to be a very popular stop last Halloween.
The entire event is completely non-contact and the treats were prepared according to strict sanitary protocols.
“There were a lot of new volunteers who showed up to play characters this year,” said set designer Gerry Harvieux. “The business community has also joined us, with support from Home Hardware, Home Building Center, Til’s’bury Pizza Boy, Foodland, DPM Insurance, Tim Hortons and Tilbury BIA. It’s great to see everyone working together to provide a truly unique Halloween experience.
The Tilbury Auto Mall will also be collecting non-perishable food and personal hygiene items that night for the Tilbury Food Bank.
