The Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah will have a haunted surprise for visitors this weekend. The Winneshiek County Fair Board of Directors holds the second annual Haunted Drive-thru Friday and Saturday, October 29 and 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each evening. The event has an extended drive-thru path with many more surprises and spooky settings and displays. Visitors will stay in the car and take the well-marked route to have a spellbinding good time this Halloween.
The Haunted Drive-Thru has 20 new participating local businesses, with room for more businesses until October 27. Businesses or groups interested in setting up an exhibit or members of the community wishing to volunteer at the event should contact the members of the Fair Board of Directors, DeAnn Christopher at 563- 419- 4716 or Roxie at 563-419-0183.
Donations will be accepted at the drive-through event and all proceeds will go to the new community building to help finish the bathrooms.
The Kymar Kafe food truck will be in the parking lot with food sales before crossing. See the show’s facebook page for more information and a printable coloring page for children.
Christopher shared, “We had so much fun last year with this event! Last year I rode it in two weeks. I wanted to give the kids something fun and safe to do on Halloween, as many weren’t going out to make treats. We look forward to an even bigger event this year.
