A young bride-to-be who died in a horror car accident hours before his wedding had tragically warned his friends to “drive safely” in a post posted on social media a few weeks earlier.

Miley Harty, 20, of Asseaton in County Limerick, was due to marry her sweetheart Kate McQuilligan on Saturday.

A few hours earlier, he had been killed instantly when the vehicle in which he was a passenger left the road.

Now his heartbroken fiancée, family and loved ones are preparing to bury him after his funeral mass on Tuesday.

Mr Harty died instantly when the car in which he was a front passenger hit a pole at around 1 a.m. in Cragmore, on the Askeaton road in Rathkeale.

A teenager, who Gardaí said was driving the car, was arrested by Gardaí at the scene on suspicion of having committed a traffic violation.

Earlier on Saturday, at the church where their wedding was said to have taken place, Kate was supported by hundreds of family and friends as they mourned outside St Munchin’s Church in Limerick.

Dozens of blue heart-shaped balloons bearing the inscription “King For A Day” and “20” were released into the sky above the church grounds.

And now the heartbroken fiancee Kate, who just hours before her tragic death had expressed her joy and enthusiasm to marry the love of her life in their ‘fairy tale’ on Saturday, has sworn they are husbands. and wife.
