FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – A second person has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting at a Framingham McDonald’s, police said on Friday.

Tiago Xavier, 18, of Framingham was arrested on Friday afternoon and will be arraigned on Monday on multiple firearms charges. This is the second arrest in the case, as police arrested Moises Bautista, 19, of Ashland on Thursday.

Police say early Thursday morning, Xavier and Bautista “exchanged gunfire in the McDonald’s drive-thru, punching each other.” Both people were at MetroWest Medical Center and suffered “non-life-threatening gunshot wounds,” according to Framingham police.

“The two individuals arrested know each other and there is no longer a threat to public safety,” according to the police.

The shooting remains under investigation.
