Things to do

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce its third annual Drive-In Halloween Service on Saturday, October 29 at the agency’s headquarters in Sarasota. The event was created in 2020 as a safe alternative to rigging or treating in response to concerns surrounding COVID-19. Staff held static displays in the parking lot of the agency’s headquarters, handing out approximately 80,000 candies to more than 1,100 attendees. The event took place again in 2021 and is being held for the third consecutive year after its huge success. The Halloween drive-thru will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 6010 Cattleridge Blvd. Attendees will be directed to enter Cattleridge Blvd between Arby’s Restaurant and BP convenience store before heading north towards the event. To ease traffic, motorists will enter the north parking lot in two lanes and follow directions from staff as to where to go. As this is a drive-in event, there will be no on-site parking and all attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles.
