People in need of food assistance can come to the former Salem Mall property on Shiloh Springs Road from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., according to a news release from The Foodbank Inc.

Food bank staff will direct traffic to the rear of the property and ask patrons not to show up until noon for food preparation and safety reasons, the statement said.

You will receive free fresh produce, proteins, cereals and other products. The statement says it is recommended to have enough space in your car to place food.

This drive-thru is in addition to the food bank’s Mobile Pantry program which hosts monthly events in Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties, according to the release.

This distribution is designed to help communities in the Miami Valley struggling with food insecurity, the spokesperson said.

Caresource will sponsor the event and help distribute food to residents.

Questions about mass food distribution in Greene County can be directed to the Food Bank’s main phone line at 937-461-0265.
